WINTER LIKE A LOCAL
One of the most searched questions is what do Alaskans do to enjoy the winter? Other than the obvious answers like skiing, Alaska is full of exciting winter activities! Here’s an inside look at what our Boardroom members like to do during the colder months.
Holiday Lights Walk
Anchorage gets about 5.5 hours of sunlight in December, so finding activities with light is definitely favored. We are lucky to have two yearly displays at the Botanical gardens and Alaska Zoo
Solstice Events
Locals truly love celebration Winter Solstice as we are all very excited that it means more and more light will start getting added to our days.
Ice Fishing
In February, locals get the opportunity to ice fish on Jewel Lake to catch salmon raised in a local hatchery.
